You know you need to eat better, but you’re struggling to figure exactly HOW to make that happen.
What you need is someone to make nutrition simple, easy to understand, and yes, actually doable.
I’ve got you covered!
I’m Kristie LeBeau, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Registered Nurse (RN), and owner of Fresh Approach Nutrition, Inc. I am passionate about empowering you to make healthy food choices. I know it can be a struggle at times to eat well in the face of temptations (hey, I’m human – I struggle with it too :), but I do have strategies that can help you learn how to enjoy food and improve your health while creating healthy life-long habits.
Education and Credentials:
-Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
-Registered Nurse (RN)
-Master of Public Health – Nutrition – Loma Linda University
-Dietetics Internship – Loma Linda University Medical Center
-Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Medical College of Georgia
I started my career by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and began working as a registered nurse (RN) in a cardiovascular surgery step-down unit. While taking care of patients who had open heart surgery, as well as those with diabetes and kidney disease, I realized that diet played a HUGE role in disease. I knew there had to be a better way! I became interested in nutrition and learned all I could, but eventually decided to go back to school to earn my Master’s degree and become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
I believe that the body has an amazing ability to heal itself, when given optimal nutrition and healthy lifestyle. Research shows that “diets” don’t work, and that lifestyle changes and mindful eating work best, so I focus on using these strategies and proven behavior-change strategies in working with clients. I also believe that a plant-centric diet is best, because I realize that the best thing we can do for our bodies (and our environment) is to reduce animal products in our diets.
I enjoy traveling with my husband David, and I have four cats! (Yes, I’m a crazy cat lady!) I’m originally from Georgia and grew up eating a lot of good old fashioned southern comfort foods, but I have (mostly) kicked the habit, but still occasionally enjoy fried okra, grits, or some other southern fixin’ 🙂
